Last night I wore my usual "ice pick in the ankle" brace to bed, so my ankle got as rested, compressed and elevated as it was going to get for seven and a half hours or so. I think the brace helped with the lack of swelling, but I still slapped the air cast right back on immediately after getting out of the shower. While I've got that on, the ankle doesn't like walking for the first couple of minutes, but then it gets used to the way things are and I can walk without limping. The air cast stabilizes the sides, but I have another sore spot on the front of the ankle and that's what has to get used to walking in the air cast.

I really wish I hadn't done this in the first place, but at least I'm not stuck in an actual cast for weeks. And I can walk if I need to; I just can't do as much walking as I want to. And I can't wear my sluck-stompin' boots with the air cast, so I'm stuck in sneakers and it's snowing again and I disapprove of that.

But, today is Friday, and that's good. And it's not like I HAVE to walk any longer than ten minutes to get where I need to get to this weekend.
