It rained last night. I wish I had listened to myself when I left for my class and thought "Oh, it is SO going to rain..." because I got rained on coming home. Oh well. I obviously didn't melt.

Speaking of melting, it takes two days to thaw out frozen chicken without a microwave. That's absurd.

Mirabilia has done it to me again. www.sewandso.co.uk actually has a list of supplies for Garden Verses, and I don't have most of the floss I would need, so I have no idea what the color scheme looks like. Therefore, I can't see what color linen would work. This all falls under "wishful thinking" anyway, since even if I could afford to buy the supplies and all, I wouldn't have the time to actually stitch anything until Christmas.

[five hours later]

I win. I got my friend Solange's computer to talk to her printer/copier/scanner/fax machine. I got fed lunch for my trouble, too. Whee! Now all I have to do is figure out how to get a printer driver off the internet and onto a computer with a 14.4 modem, running Win95, without it taking all day. I'm hoping I can get my laptop to save the downloaded driver as a PC file on a CD, and therefore hoping the ancient PC will read the CD. At least Solange has one printer that works now. I don't know why she wants the other system up too, but she asked me to see if I can do it, so I'll see if I can do it.

Damn it, I forgot I was going to buy milk on the way back from the computer adventure. I guess I should go out again and do that.

After getting caught in that freak downpour, I'm much more apt to take a shell when it even hints of rain...

It didn't rain hard; just enough for my bangs to start dripping in my face by the time I got home. Since then I've been wearing my more-or-less waterproof parka.

when it's cold, any rain is too much rain to be rained on.

Hey, it was snowing here this morning. By the way, have you seen those "fry a whole turkey or chicken" kits? They work, but frozen chickens will, er, explode. No, I don't own one, no, don't ask how I know this.

If you mean deep-fry, yes, I've seen them. It makes sense that a frozen chicken would explode, though, considering what happens when you put something with water on it into hot oil.
