For some reason, today I have a severe case of hopelessness. Part of it is probably as a result of a conversation I had yesterday, in which it was revealed to me (again) that my French is nowhere near what it should be. Whatever the reason, I really wish I could afford to just take today and do something that makes me feel better. But, since I have this blasted exam due tomorrow and this idiot paper due next week, I can't. And I need to shower and do dishes and remember not to drink any water this weekend without boiling it first.

I think this calls for ranting on paper, when I have the time to do it.

Hey, you're still in grad school, and writing cool papers. Ok, so maybe your French isn't perfect yet - that's why you're in school!. Don't compare yourself with all those other native speakers, either.

Carmen asked after you and is glad to hear you're doing well. Lots of people ask about you. I haven't told them how you're supporting yourself. :)
