Nov. 23rd, 2018 06:14 pmThanksgiving in Noank was too damn short, but I did get to come home to Lily chilling out downstairs. She's much mellower than she was and I think that means the iodine is doing its thing. Thank goodness, because I'd hate to have put her through this whole saga and have her turn out to be in the 2% of cats it doesn't work for.
Last night Dad and I stumbled on a 1938 movie called You Can't Take It With You, which is a fairly typical "rich industrialist vs eccentric who won't sell his property" story. But the eccentric (Lionel Barrymore) and his family are just the sort of eccentric that amuses me, at least for the 20 or so minutes of movie I saw before I gave up and went to bed.
Thanksgiving itself was good (it's never actually bad), and, making lemonade out of lemons, I probably didn't need to eat pie all weekend. I suppose I could make myself an apple pie if I really wanted to.
I've managed not to buy anything on Black Friday. I need kitty litter, but I decided tomorrow is soon enough to buy it, especially since it's going to be approximately 15 degrees warmer tomorrow. Today was for keeping warm and reminding myself it's OK to be me (as usual, I sat through rock climbing and mountaineering pictures and felt rather like a lump of Crisco. I don't have scuba pictures.).
