Jun. 19th, 2019 02:35 pmGot my eyeballs sorted out via new prescription. I have reliable distance vision again on account of lens samples, which makes me happy. New lenses have been ordered and will either get here next Tuesday or next Thursday, depending on what "5-7 business days" means.
I didn't get my eyes dilated this time, but I went home after the appointment anyway, and actually got some minor cleaning done (mostly because it was too humid for embroidery). But at least the pollen under the living room window and the footprints therein are gone now, and the dust bunnies have been slain again. And I really need a new bookshelf for the living room, because the one I have was a Staples particle board special and all the shelves are seriously bowed.
They're replacing the sewer lines on Colborne Road, and have been doing so for the last couple of months. Last night for some reason they got the clock backward and started work at 9:00 PM, and went straight through until 5:00 AM, and it was not quiet work. I need a nap. (Having complained to 311.boston.gov, apparently it was a gas leak, in which case they're forgiven. But I still wanted a nap starting at about 2:00 this afternoon.)
Back on the good side, I walked from work to my eye appointment yesterday in the new Tevas and didn't get any new blisters. And on the way home I got rained on and still didn't get any new blisters. I think we have a winner here, hooray!
Best thing I've overheard all week even though it's only Wednesday: "Can you look at this impression we took on Monday, with the patient who was falling asleep?" To which my immediate reaction was "Apnea?" Based on my experience, it takes some serious talent to fall asleep with your mouth full of impression trays. The faculty member involved agrees with me about both the talent and the apnea.
