dchenesGrump, because my new sneakers are too long, and not wide enough. My right foot should not be falling asleep merely because it has a shoe on it. I should have tried them on when I picked them up on Tuesday, but it never occurred to me that they wouldn't have ordered wide ones, because that's what I said I needed. And I've worn these outdoors, so I can't really return them. GRUMP, I say. So I guess I donate these somewhere and go sneaker shopping again.
Grump, also, because this is the sort of week in which I write things on the list after I've done them, so I can cross them off. Meanwhile everything that was already on the list isn't getting done. It's not that I'm not getting anything done, I'm just not making the list any shorter.
I went to the ODE budget review meeting yesterday, with my boss, because I know things about the accreditation process and the curriculum and various other random stuff from two years ago. Because ODE is The Office That Gets Stuff Done, the finance office mostly has nothing to say about our budget. The best thing that came out of the meeting as far as I'm concerned is an acknowledgement by the finance office that I wear a lot of hats, and I shouldn't have to wear the CODA hat pulled down as far as it was last time. The Dean's office is supposed to be in charge of all that stuff, but they didn't, so we had to do it. (Memo to self: look up when the MMSc in Dental Education program started, and add Program Administrator to CV.)
There's still a sore spot on my ankle, and the right ankle is still bigger than the left one. That may just be the way it is from now on, I don't know. But I'd say it's about 95% healed, which is good.
