Feb. 18th, 2004 11:12 amAny time this week would like to be over, that would be fine with me. I seem to have had one of those days yesterday during which everything with a microchip in it hated me. My KSU email barfed at me and wouldn't send anything, and what I was trying to send turned out to be wrong anyway once I had finally sent it. After class I decided it was Monster Burrito From Hell time, and went and got one, and went out the wrong door leaving the place, and found myself in the fenced-off patio they put tables on in the summer. I climbed over the fence and gave myself a lovely bruise on the back of my thigh.
On getting home, I went to get my mail, and found an embarrassment of riches in it. My sister and my aunt had both sent me envelopes of random stuff. (My sister's idea of random stuff is a little less random, since she sent me some embroidery floss I was running out of.) That was good.
I went to bed sometime around 12:30, and COULD NOT get to sleep. I finally gave up reading somewhere around 2:45, and still wasn't sleepy. I have no idea when I finally fell asleep, but I know I was up this morning at 9:45.
If I can get through today, tomorrow is laundry and grocery shopping day. Getting through today is going to be quite the accomplishment all by itself, though. We've started having Literary and Cultural Translation backward, meaning the French students start at 3:15 and do translation workshop, and then go to the theory discussion at 4:30 and stay there until 6:00. The Spanish students start with theory and then go to their translation workshop at 6:00 and stay until 7:00. It makes for a very long afternoon for the French students, but I get more out of the translation workshop, which is what I wanted anyway.
I should go print out this week's draft translation before I forget. It's a rougher draft than it normally would be, but I don't have to turn it in, so I'm not terribly worried. Yet.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I'll be damned if I know what it is.
