Rice pudding as it is properly spoken requires raisins. The reason I know this is because I made rice pudding this evening, but I don't have any raisins, so I have naked rice pudding. Which is good, but isn't the real thing.

I threw the first batch (and the recipe) out and started over again with proportions of rice and water that actually made sense, and cooked it until it looked right.
Cold rice pudding makes a perfectly adequate breakfast.
