ten things

I've been tagged by whuffle, so here are ten things that make me happy, in no particular order:

1. Singing harmony so in tune it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up
2. The first spring day when it's warm enough to go without a coat
3. Intelligent humor, including plain old bad puns
4. Swimming in the ocean
5. The few articles of clothing I own in which I KNOW I look good
6. Close extended family, of which I have quite a lot
7. Standing on my own feet, paying my own way and being my own person
8. Being able to let go and be completely silly once in a while
9. Friends who just happen to also be my parents
10. Friends in general, even though I may not be a very good friend myself

With two exceptions, every soup I make is stone soup. The latest version has a zillion ingredients and took about four hours, because I started with water and made my own stock. The end product, however, is quite tasty, and contains chicken, sweet Italian sausage, orzo, zucchini, spinach, chickpeas and diced tomatoes. That'll do for dinner for the next week or so.
