In the category of "well, what did you expect?", the first email I read this morning was from a translation agency that's interested in me. Of course, now that I've got a real job, NOW I start getting translation inquiries.

I know that's how the world works, but it sort of amuses me anyway.

I spent most of today reading things again (mostly figuring out what and where things are on the server) and then at 4:30 I finally got to sit down and get told what I'm going to be responsible for. Suffice it to say, I'm going to be assembling a lot of paperwork and (if I do it right) a lot of people, in the same place, once a month. And rearranging a filing cabinet. (The office looks considerably better now than it did when I was interviewing, but it's still figuring out where the homes for various things are.)
