Never mind the fact that it's hot out, I wanted pancakes this morning, and I happened to have blueberries hanging around. Blueberry pancakes ensued, and I didn't even burn them. The only thing I forgot is that hot blueberries tend to be full of hot blueberry juice. (Ow.)

Today I absolutely must do two things: laundry, and get the old futon frame parts out of here. The laundry is going to take some doing. I really don't like doing laundromat-style laundry (which means wait until you absolutely can't wait any more, and then do enormous amounts), but that's how it goes when I don't have free access to the machinery.

Oh yes, I also have to call the Boston Bed Company and find out if they're really going to charge me $20 for installation because they had to take one arm off the new futon frame to get it around the corner into my apartment. We wouldn't have had this problem if they had done what the saleslady told me they were going to do, and took the silly thing apart to load it in the truck. I was expecting parts and instructions, and was planning to put the thing together myself. The whole point of buying the floor model was to save some money, or so I thought. I saved $40 on the frame, but then they charged me $60 for delivery (they said $50 when I was window shopping) and $20 for installation. (Edit: They waived the installation charge, which was what I was hoping for, but I wasn't really expecting them to do it.)

Tomorrow I have to call Comcast and cancel the land line service I don't use anyway, and which they have now started charging me $35 per month for. When it was $5 per month and part of a package, I lived with it. Now that the package deal has expired, I'm not paying for it any more.

Exciting life I've got, isn't it?

I know it's only July, but wasn't this supposed to be the record-breaking doomsday Atlantic hurricane season?

The other subject I keep thinking about is the fact that my social life, as it stands, is safe but not particularly exciting, nor is it likely to get me anywhere. I'm not sure what to do about it yet, but at least I think I know what the problem with it is.
