mostly good news and a whim
Dec. 7th, 2007 10:45 amWent to the eye doctor this morning. For once I don't have a hole in either retina. However, I think that every time I get my eyes dilated, it gets harder to read afterward. It's annoying to know you've got important email, but not to be able to read it.
I don't know what was up with the T this morning, but we got underground at Kenmore and they said there was a "delay" and it would be a while. It certainly was; it took 45 minutes to get from Kenmore to Boylston. And here I thought leaving home at 7:30 would get me to my 8:30 appointment on time...silly me.
On the good side of things, the December SOP meeting is in fact canceled. Hooray! And last night I managed to get ahold of my father's Christmas present, and he's getting it tomorrow because it weighs approximately half a ton and is fairly large and I don't want to haul it around on the train to CT. (It's a coffee-table book.)
If I had unlimited time, and unlimited budget, I would take Leonardo da Vinci's plans for flapping wings and actually build them. I don't know what possessed me to want to do that, since I'm not mechanically inclined, and I don't know what I'd do with them if I got them working, but I want to do it someday.
