May. 31st, 2011 11:09 amYesterday being a holiday, I made a holiday out of it and did almost absolutely nothing. And it was lovely. Today I'm paying for it; I didn't do any cooking yesterday, so I have to spend money on lunch.
I didn't spend the entire weekend being a slug; among other things, I finally retired my VCR. I knew I was never going to use it again, but I hate messing around with co-ax cables and all that stuff, so it was still connected. Over the weekend I bit the bullet and disconnected it, and only forgot to reconnect the TV to the cable box in the process of putting things back together. But the TV gets cable and the DVD player works, so I can put that in the Success column. The VCR will go to Noank if I ever get my act together.
In sort of the same vein, does anybody want an enormous Aiwa stereo and five speakers? I had retired it ages ago and it's sitting in my living room taking up floor space. I obtained an iPod dock/clock radio that plays CDs, since I'm not ready to give up my CDs yet. Reviews say the new toy is a terrible alarm clock, but that's not what I bought it for. It does what I want it to do, so I'm happy.
