Sep. 29th, 2012 02:05 pmI still don't know who decided it would be a good idea to leave me doing all the prep for two P&R meetings with virtually no help, or why they decided that. But they did, and I did it (and got a pat on the head by email for it), and now all I have to do is make it through Tuesday. Fortunately they're not two huge meetings. They were going to be one meeting until we went over 30 cases, so I split them and ended up with 18 cases apiece for the two meetings. That's just about doable by one person, provided the one person is me.
After I make it through Tuesday, I only have to make it through Thursday and then it's Floor Day. I'm using a personal day for that. I'm not sure it will be any fun to stay home for, but it will be more fun for Snip if she doesn't have to spend several hours locked up unnecessarily. I just want the whole thing over with, and then I want it not to rain for a week so I can leave the kitchen windows open if the new floor smells funny.
I should have known it wouldn't be turkey parts season in the grocery store yet. It hasn't been Thanksgiving yet. However, when one has one's heart set on turkey soup for lunch next week, and one's only option is to buy a whole turkey and dismember it, one tends to change one's plans. (I don't want a whole turkey, and I'm reasonably certain I don't have a knife sharp enough to dismember one in the first place.) So, bean soup it is. Fortunately kielbasa doesn't have a season.
